Vickers Oils steps in to support Princess Royal’s Medical Charity on Lake Victoria.

MV JUBILEE HOPE, the only dedicated medical vessel situated on Lake Victoria, needed to go for dry dock in May and urgently required lubricant for the stern tube repair. HYDROX 21 was quickly identified as the most suitable product to support the dry docking.

It was necessary to air freight HYDROX 21 at short notice to Dar-es-Salam, Tanzania where clearance and onward uplift was arranged to transfer it to Mwanza, Lake Victoria.

Chief Executive Willie McPherson was delighted to receive support from Vickers Oils and accept a donation of HYDROX 21 stern tube oil plus air freight for the repair of the vessel’s propeller shaft.

“We are hugely grateful to Vickers Oils for their kindness in gifting this specialist oil for the vessel which wasn’t otherwise available in Tanzania.  Thank you so much for your spontaneous kindness and the outstanding support of your staff throughout.”

Vickers Oils were delighted to provide immediate help with such a worthwhile cause.
